JUPEB 2022/2023: FUOYE assures candidates on admission slots for 2023/2024

By John Odunjo

The Management of the Federal University Oye Ekiti (FUOYE), has assured candidates who scored appreciable marks in the just concluded 2022/2023 Joint Universities’ Preliminary Examination Board (JUPEB) of efforts to ensure they get admissions for the 2023/2024 academic session.

The Director of JUPEB, FUOYE, Dr Gabriel Ogunleye, said that the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fasina, has brought the cut off mark for admitting JUPEB candidates through Direct Entry down to two (2) points and even gave room for those who failed the examination but sat for 2023 UTME to get admission into various courses in 100L.

Ogunleye, who made the disclosure in a statement, however, warned candidates suspected to be preparing to cause trouble to perish the thought and rather toe the line of peace.

The statement statement reads in part: “It has come to the notice of the FUOYE JUPEB Centre that some unscrupulous candidates who failed to meet up with the admission criteria of the University are to cause a kind of mayhem by disrupting the peace of the University.

“This is to send a note of warning to those candidates that the University would not tolerate any attempts by anybody including outsiders who are not matriculated students of the University to disrupt the peace of the University.

“The University management under the able leadership of our Vice Chancellor has graciously considered by reducing the admission point of students in her JUPEB programme to 2 points this year out of 16 points.

“The University has also been considering those who failed the JUPEB programme in her centre to be admitted into 100 level which cannot be found in any other University.

“Kindly note that the regulated medical courses have a few slots and not by automatic and basically by merit.

“The medical courses are already over-populated as a result of the merging of stream A and B this year.

“We therefore advise all candidates seeking admission into the University to abide by the admission policies of the University.

“Any candidate caught in the act of causing trouble would be handed over to the relevant authority”.
