Kudos to Ekiti monarch for strengthening ancestral ties with Yoruba spiritual fountainhead

The Oore of Otun Ekiti, Ekiti State and Paramount Ruler of Mobaland, Oba Adekunle Adeayo Adeagbo, has received commendations for preserving and uplifting the prestige of the people of Moba

Oba Adeagbo in the week led traditional rulers in Mobaland and leadership of Moba Local Government area of Ekiti State on a visit to Ile Ife, Osun State, an event described by the Chairman of the Local Government, Hon Bamidele Fadugba, as “strengthening our ancestral ties with Ile-Ife – the spiritual and cultural fountainhead of the Yoruba nation”.

The visit to the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, was part activities for the 100th birthday and 60th coronation anniversary of the Obanikosu of Ikosu Ekiti in Mibalane, Ekiti State, Oba Joseph Afolabi Adeoye.

The local government chairman, in a “letter of appreciation” to the chairman dated 7th July, 2025, thanked Oba Adeagbo for his “noble leadership and royal blessings”.

Fadugba’s letter to the Oore, Oba Adekunle Adeagbo, reads:

“I bring you warm greetings and the highest regards from the entire administration of Moba Local Government.

“It is with deep respect and a heart full of gratitude that I write to specially appreciate Your Royal Majesty for your exceptional leadership and royal guidance in leading myself and the esteemed Moba Traditional Council of Obas on our recent historic visit to the Palace of His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, the Arole Oduduwa of Yorubaland, the Ooni of ile- ife.

“Your Majesty, your wisdom, courage, and deep-rooted commitment to the unity and progress of Mobaland were once again evident throughout the course of that visit.

“By taking the lead in strengthening our ancestral ties with Ile-Ife — the spiritual and cultural fountainhead of the Yoruba nation — you have not only preserved our heritage but also uplifted the prestige of our people.

“I am particularly grateful for the fatherly role you continue to play in fostering harmony among our royal fathers and in supporting the vision of this administration to drive inclusive development across the length and breadth of Moba.

“Your royal presence and unwavering support have continued to inspire and empower our leadership journey, and I remain committed to working closely with the traditional institution under your leadership to achieve lasting progress for our land.

“May the Almighty God continue to strengthen your reign with good health, divine wisdom, and enduring legacy.

“Once again, Kabiyesi, thank you for your noble leadership and royal blessings.

“With deepest reverence and appreciation,” Fadugba stated.
