It was an exciting experience at the Gwandu Emirate Annual Horse Racing and Horse Festival at Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State.
The Oore of Otun Ekiti in the Moba Local Government area of Ekiti State, Oba Adekunle Adeayo Adeagbo, who was a Special Guest at the cultural festival relished every moment of the events which held between 18th to 23rd November in Birnin Kebbi.
In attendance was a roll call of who is who in Kebbi State and indeed Nigeria as Oba Adeagbo joined other traditional rulers and eminent Nigerians to witness the cultural festival.
Among prominent First Class traditional rulers at the cultural festival are the Etsu Nupe and Chairman, Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, His Royal Highness, Alhaji (Dr) Yahaya Abubakar; the Chairman, Enugu State Council of Traditional Rulers; and the Chairman Taraba Council of Traditional Rulers.
The Governor of Kebbi State, Mohammed Nasir Idris was on ground to add colour to the cultural fiesta as the Emir of Gwandu and Chairman, Kebbi State Council of Chiefs, His Royal Highness, Major Gen. Muhammadu Iliyasu Bashir (retd), played host to the array of dignitaries and tourists who had thronged the Emirate for the celebrations.
An excited Oore and the Zonal Coordinator, National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria, Oba Adeagbo, cannot hide his admiration for the colour, candour and grace at the fiesta and tourist event.
He said, “I am enlightened by this festival. Our different cultures in Nigeria as a nation are paramount to the development of the Nigerian economy”.
