Oba Adekunle Adeagbo’s Mother, Olori Janet, Dies At 87

The Oore of Otun Ekiti and Paramount ruler of Mobaland in Ekiti State, Oba Adekunle Adeagbo, has mourned the passage of his mum, Olori Janet Adeagbo, popularly called Iya Oba.

Iya Oba, who clocked 87 years on June 6, died on Saturday night.

Iya Oba, a foremost business woman in Ibadan and owner of Kadejan Hotels, Bashorun Ibadan, was married to the late Prince Adebowale Adeagbo, a former Senior Executive in UAC and member Federal House of Representatives (1979-83) under the banner of the defunct Unity Party of Nigeria in the old Ondo State.

Oba Adeagbo, who is the youngest of Iya Oba ‘s three male children, said, “Mama will deeply be missed.

“I appreciate and honour you Mum, but I believe the Almighty loves you more. Rest in peace dear mother. Sun re oo Iya rere”.
