A group of friends, associates and well-wishers, under the auspices of Friends of Lucky on Sunday hosted Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, to a victory party in Akure, the state capital to celebrate with him.
The Deji of Akure, His Royal Majesty, Oba Ogunlade Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi, Odundun II, who is the Chairman of the Ondo State Council of Obas, honoured the gathering with his Royal presence.
The Chairman, Organizing Committee of the event, Mrs Bukola Tenabe, said, “This event is to honour the Governor on his resounding victory at the APC primary election held on the 20th of April, 2024 and also to appreciate his supporters”.
In his goodwill message, the Deputy State Chairman of the APC, Chief Atili Adaba, congratulated the Governor on his victory, describing it as well deserved.
Adaba praised the organizers of the event for their efforts in making it a success.
The Majority Leader of Ondo State House of Assembly, Hon. Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi, who represented the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji, said, “Governor Aiyedatiwa is a product of grace”, assuring that the House would continue to support the Governor for the progress of the State.
The Commissioner for Information, Mr Adewale Akinlosotu, who spoke on behalf of the State Executive Council, said that “the Governor deserves to be celebrated. APC is one big family” as he urged everyone to come together so that the party would be successful at the November16 gubernatorial election.
Also, Dr Abiola Oshodi, who spoke on behalf of APC Canada, also congratulated the Governor on his victory, saying: “I am sure that the people of Ondo State will definitely vote for you come November 16”.
Former Speaker, Ondo State House of Assembly and Chairman of SUBEB, Rt. Hon. Victor Olabimtan, said, “The Governor is a product of Mercy. The APC will record unprecedented success in the November 16 election”.
In his reaction, Governor Aiyedatiwa, who thanked the organizers and his supporters, said that APC would not underrate any candidate from other political parties at the gubernatorial election scheduled for November 16, 2024.
The Governor, who said the victory belonged to the people of Ondo State, appreciated the leaders of the party for their support, as well as the organizers of the event.
He said: “Once again, I appreciate all my supporters. You all went a long way for me, initiated things, spreading the message of O’datiwa, O’dirorun across the 18 local government areas of the State.
“However, it is not over yet. This is just the first phase. There’s still more land to conquer; there’s still a great battle ahead. The primary election was just an in-house contest and now we head to the main battle,” the governor said.
