PHOTOS: Jubilations as Ekiti chief, surpasses Guinness World Record holder’s 94 hours

There were jubilations broke out at the Aba Iya Medi area in Ado Ekiti on Saturday night when the Osagunrin of Igunrin, Ilawe Ekiti, Chief Sanya Atofarati, surpassed the 94 hours record of the present Guinness World Record holder. Longest Marathon Watching Television.

Atofarati, who is targeting a 120-hour record to set new record, is already over 110 hours into the challenge.

The Director of Administration, CSA GWR Watch-a-thon, Temitope Ogunsanya, speaking at about 2.30pm on Sunday, said, “The community leader and creative artist is on the way to making history. We are doing everything according to the rules and regulations guiding the TV watching category.

“Chief Atofarati is in high spirits. He will not even stop at 120 hours in the early hours of Monday January 1, 2024, he will continue for some hours more to demonstrate that he has the strength to carry on and that he is well prepared for the challenge”.
