The people of Otun Ekiti, headquarters of Moba Local Government area of Ekiti State displayed yet another aspect of their rich culture and tradition recently when they celebrated the ‘Otun nki Oore’ Festival.

The festival, which has the male and the female sides celebrated on separate days, traditionally has the chiefs and people gather at the palace to give obeisance to the Oore and pray for his longevity and prosperity, while the monarch will in turn pray for them.

The ‘Otun Nki Oore’ activity ends the Traditional Calendar of The Otun MOBA people and signals the beginning of yet another fruitful traditional year with The IFA ABA festival (The kings festival), which is the first festival, coming up by the end of October, 2024.

Extra glamour and candour were added to this year’s celebration of the intense and spiritual festival at the Palace with the Oore, His Royal Majesty, Oba Adekunle Adeayo Adeagbo, Ilufemiloye I, Okinbaloye II, as the centre of attraction.

Indeed, the consensus of opinions in Otun Ekiti and beyond is that the Otun MOBA people led by the Revered Oore Adekunle Adeagbo has boosted ancient tradition in Otun Ekiti, Mobaland, Ekiti State and Nigeria in general.
