The Oore of Otun Ekiti and the paramount ruler of Mobaland, Oba Adekunle Adeayo, has reiterated the pride of place of traditional rulers in national development.

Oba Adeagbo, who is the Southwest Coordinator of National Council of Traditional Rulers, Abuja, canvassed special recognition for monarchs in governance, in view of their place and roles.

The frontline traditional ruler spoke in Abuja during a meeting of between the National Council of Traditional Rulers and a National Assembly delegation led by Senator Simon Lalong.

The Oore was invited as Southwest Coordinator of National Council of Traditional Rulers to the meeting where the six geopolitical zones of the monarchs’ council was fully represented.

Oba Adeagbo said, “Traditional rulers are the custodians of culture, tradition and history. Most royal fathers have peculiar knowledge about their various communities and they can advise positively about the security of their domains and by extension the country

“Also, by virtue of the fact that traditional rulers have lifetime tenure, they have the capacity to work on solutions that will bring prudence to governance”.

The National Council of Traditional Rulers thanked the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio and the Senate delegation leader, Senator Lalong, for their love and support to the monarchs in the country.
