Preparations in top gear for Ekiti @ 30 celebration

Preparations are in top gear for the celebration of the 30th creation anniversary of Ekiti State billed for October 1, 2026.
Ekiti State was carved out of the old Ondo State on October 1, 1996 by the General Sani Abacha-led military government on October 1, 1996.
One of the very important issues Governor Biodun Oyebanji attended to shortly after resuming official duties earlier in the week, was the 30th anniversary celebration of Ekiti State.
Sources said that the governor held a crucial meeting with Chairman of the anniversary committee, Senator Olubunmi Adetumbi and the Co- chairman, Senator Babafemi Ojudu, in his office on the details of the anniversary celebration.
The celebration will be held on October 1, two weeks prior the inauguration of Governor Biodun Oyebanji for a second term in office billed for October 16.
Oyebanji was on June 20 reelected for a second term having defeated all the candidates of different political parties who contested the exalted office with him.
