It was indeed a graceful passage and glorious exit for the Queen Mother, HRM Janet Ara Adeagbo, the late mother of the Oore of Otun Ekiti, Oba Adekunle Adeayo Adeagbo, recently as eminent Nigerians, traditional rulers, political leaders, captains of industries, families and friends gathered to pay their last respect to her and bid her farewell.
Oba Adeagbo, who is the Southwest Coordinator, National Council of Traditional Rulers, honoured by the last respect paid to his late mother, penned an emotional appreciation statement to Nigerians for the honour to him, his family and Otun Ekiti for paying last respect to the late Queen Mother.
HRM Janet Ara Adeagbo, popularly called Iya Oba, the Chairman of Kadejan Hotel, Bashorun Ibadan, died on June 22, 2024 at the age of 87 years.
Funeral activities for the late Queen Mother, began in Ibadan on Wednesday with a Wake Keep, followed by a Church Service at Winners’ Chapel, Bashorun, Ibadan, Oyo State on Thursday morning before her body was moved to Otun Ekiti for Lying in State later that day.
The funeral service was held on Friday before the interment of her body at the compound of Prince S.A Adeagbo.
Dignitaries from all walks attended the different events including the grand reception which held at the Oore Palace in Otun Ekiti, Ekiti State after the dust to dust ceremony bidding the late Queen Mother final bye on Friday.
