Former member of House of Representatives from Ekiti State, Hon Bimbo Daramola, has returned to his erstwhile party, All Progressives Congress, with the pledge to add value and improve lives of the people of his constituency, Ekiti State and Nigeria.

Daramola, who contested the February National Assembly election for Oye/Ikole Federal Constituency of Ekiti State under the platform of Social Democratic Party, said, “I am happy to be back in the APC after few months of being away due to some reasons in the past that I am very emotional about.

The lawmaker, who spoke at APC Ire Ward II, Ire Ekiti, in Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government area of Ekiti State where he officially rejoined the governing party alongside over 1000 loyalists, said, “My return to APC is not about me, it is about the people. I have come back to advance the cause of the people.

“I am ready to add value and improve the lives of our people now that I am back to the party that we laboured to form and build.”

Daramola said that his exit from APC was ignited by one or two leaders who did not want him to breathe and wanted him to leave.

He said, “I feel I am now comfortable and the new governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has earned my support, among other reasons for returning to the party”.

He lauded the party state chairman, Paul Omotoso and Governor Oyebanji for their roles in his return to the APC, assuring them that he would be more committed to the success and development of the party.

The former National Assembly member recalled his interventions in the socio-economic development of the state in the area of infrastructure and human capital development which he said were the essence of politics and governance.

APC State Chairman, Omotoso; who alongside APC Ire Ward II chairman and the leadership of the party in the Central Senatorial District, Oye Council and Ikole Council, received Daramola back to the party, expressed delight over his return to APC.

Omotoso said, “We commend Daramola for heeding our call and our plea to return to APC. We appealed to him to return because the story of APC in Ekiti State is not complete without him. He is an asset to APC in Ekiti and Nigeria. As an APC member of House of Representatives then, he represented us well.

“We know that his exit affected the development of APC in Ekiti State. Anybody that is not happy with his return should check himself. Nobody can stop him. He is coming with a lot of followers. In the next few months, opposition would have depleted because of Daramola’s return to APC”.

The party chairman said that Ekiti APC, in line with the directive of the national headquarters and Governor Oyebanji would stop at nothing in ensuring all members who had left returned.

“It is a policy of the party that all aggrieved members must be brought back. In fact, the governor is particularly concerned about that and he has given us marching order that every aggrieved member of this party must come back and even, we must be able to mobilize those that have never been members to the party. That is the target,” he said.
