THE Oore of Otun Ekiti and the Paramount Ruler of Mobaland in Ekiti, Kwara, Lagos and Republic of Benin, Oba Adekunle Adeayo Adeagbo and the Elekan of Ekanland in Kwara State, Oba David Adekunle Olaniyan, reenacted history, tradition and culture recently.

The occasion was the historic visit of the Elekan to the Oore for some traditional and cultural activities as part of the ascension rites for any king of Ekanland.

The event once again established the link between the two communities and indeed among all Moba communities in Ekiti, Kwara, Lagos and Republic of Benin dating over 1000 years.

Oba Olaniyan, who after the fulfilling visit, returned to his domain appreciated the Oore for living up to his responsibilities and his fatherly figure.

The Elekan’s letter titled, “Appreciation Message to our Royal Father, Oore of Otun Ekiti and Paramount Ruler of Moba land, HRM Oba Adekunle Adeayo Adeagbo”, reads:

“On the occasion of the first anniversary of my coronation as the Elekan of Ekan land, I extend my deepest gratitude to you our revered father—for your unwavering support, guidance, and prayers.

“Your presence, wisdom, and solidarity have been a source of strength and inspiration as I strive to serve our people with honor and dignity.

“I am humbled by the cord of respect that binds us and I remain committed to upholding the values and traditions that define our royal institution.

“May the Almighty continue to bless your reigns with peace, wisdom and longevity.

“With profound respect and royal regards”, the Kwara monarch stated.
