THE strategic meeting of the Southwest Traditional Rulers represented by four monarchs from the region with the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade I, had far-reaching resolutions.

The agenda of the meeting centred on peace, love, unity and development of the Yoruba race; harmony among obas in the region particularly between the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi and the Alaafin; and mutual respect in Yorubaland and Nigeria in general.

The four monarchs, who represented the Southwest monarchs are the Oore of Otun Ekiti and Southwest Coordinator, National Council of Traditional Rulers, Oba (Dr) Adekunle Adeayo Adeagbo; The Alara of Ilara Kingdom, Epe and Southwest Coordinator, National Council of Traditional Rulers, Oba (Dr) Olukayode Olufolarin Ogunsanwo; and the Olota of Ota, Oba (Prof.) Adeyemi Abdulkabir Obalanlege and the Onipokia of Ipokia, Oba Yisa Adeniyi Olusola Olaniyan.

The Alaafin, Oba Owode 1, thanked the monarchs, who came from different states for the visit and their interest in the Peace, Unity, love and Mutual Respect in Yorubaland.

Oba Owode 1 said that he has high respects for the Ooni of ife and Arole Oduduwa just as his predecessor did and that he is in constant touch with him on how to move the Yoruba race forward.

The visiting traditional rulers thanked the Alaafin and his Olori for the hospitality and warmth accorded them and they prayed that he will have a peaceful and prosperous reign by the grace of Eledumare.
