DIOCESE ON THE COAST, OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT & TRIBUTE FOR THE
PASSING UNTO GLORY OF CHIEF MAJOR CHRISTOPHER OLATUBORA IKUTIMINU (RTD) @ 86 YEARS
With deep sorrow, yet with gratitude to God for a life well spent in His service, the Diocese announces the passing unto glory of Chief Major Christopher Olatubora Ikutiminu (rtd) at the age of 86 years.
Chief Ikutiminu was not just a member of the Church, but a pillar, a committed steward, and a passionate lover of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. His life was a shining testimony of dedication to God, generosity to the Church, and unwavering support for the work of the ministry.
He was a strong financier and faithful supporter of the Diocese, whose contributions greatly advanced the growth and stability of the Church in many seasons.
Notably, during critical and challenging periods, he stood firmly with the Church, offering both moral and financial support to ensure that the work of God did not suffer.

His legacy of service includes:
Faithful financial commitment to the Diocese, supporting numerous Church initiatives and developments.
Consistent payment of the Assessment of St. Christopher’s Church, Ode Aye, alongside the Late Chief Sola Alomaja for many years, demonstrating rare dedication and responsibility.
Construction of a Vicarage and Children’s Chapel at St. Luke’s Church, Ijeshatedo, Lagos, contributing to the spiritual growth and welfare of both clergy and young believers.
Release of his personal house for the take-off of All Saints’ Anglican Church, Ode Aye, a sacrificial act that enabled the birth and growth of a worshipping community.
Provision of accommodation for priests (Vicarage) for many years, ensuring that God’s servants were well cared for.
Donation of a portion of his compound for Church building, further establishing his commitment to the expansion of God’s Kingdom.
Chief Ikutiminu’s life exemplified the words of Scripture:
“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith” (2 Timothy 4:7).
The Diocese mourns the departure of this great son of the Church, a man of honor, sacrifice, and unwavering faith. His footprints in the sand of time will remain indelible, and his works will continue to speak for him.

We prayerfully commend his soul to God and trust that he has entered into the eternal rest of the saints, where there is no more sorrow, pain, or death.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, the Church of God, and all who were touched by his life and generosity.
May the Lord comfort you, uphold you, and grant you the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.” (Psalm 116:15)
Rest on, gallant soldier of Christ. Your labour of love shall never be forgotten.
Signed:
The Diocesan Bishop,
Rt. Revd Amb. OlaOluwa Oluseyi Pirisola
