Asefon tours varsities, hails Tinubu for students loan, youth devpt

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Students’ Engagement, Comrade Sunday Asefon, has hailed the premium placed on education and youth development by the President Bola Tinubu administration.

Asefon says that the newly approved Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) also known as students loan programme of the Federal Government is part of the effort to make life better for an average Nigerian student.

He said that the FG’s priority attention to education and youth development was geared towards building a better future for the country, harping on the need to consolidate on the attention and cooperate with the Tinubu-led Federal Government.

Asefon said in a statement that such a support would encourage the administration the more to continue to deliver on the promises and plans for Nigerian students and the education sector.

He stated, “Last week, I paid a working visit to Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu Alike, Abakaliki, Ebonyi State and Ebonyi State University. It was an amazing experience with Nigerian students on both campuses after a brief interactions with the management teams of both citadels of learning.

“I inspected the security arrangements for students including the accommodation facilities on the campuses.

“It was an avenue to expose the students to the advantages of newly approved NELFUND also known as Students Loan programme of Federal Government.

“Likewise, I itemised the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR on education sector with efforts and achievements so far and those in pipeline.

“The priority placed on education and youth development by the incumbent Federal Government underscores the commitment of Federal Government to building a better future for Nigeria.

“It is therefore imperative we cooperate with government to deliver on its promises and plans for Nigerian students and education sector,” Asefon said.
