The Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere-Ekiti (BOUESTI) has appointed 22 professors.
The Appointments and Promotions Committee (Academic) of the university also approved the promotion of five Senior Lecturers to the status of Associate Professor.
A statement from the Office of the Registar made available on Wednesday stated that “the decision was taken at the Committee’s meeting held on Tuesday, 17th September, 2024.
“The new Professors are the first of academics bred within BOUESTI to attain such enviable height since the University was upgraded to a University, from a College of Education.
The newly appointed Professors were selected based on rigorous evaluations of their academic contributions, research publications, teaching experience and service to the University, the statement added.
BOUESTI Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olufemi Adeoluwa expressed pride in the Committee’s momentus decision, describing the newly minted Professors as not only trailblazers in their respective fields but also a vanguard of a brighter academic future for the University.
Adeoluwa stated, “The elevation of these outstanding academics to Professorship is a testament to their dedication, research excellence and the progressive strides our University is making as an academic powerhouse.”
