Foundation offers free vocational training to100 youths, widows, orphans in Ekiti

No fewer than 100 persons are at present undergoing a three-month intensive practical training in different vocations organised by a Non Governmental Organization, Princess Omotayo Adenike Foundation (POAF).

They are undergoing trainings free of charge in Fashion Designing, Hairdressing, Shoe and Bag Making, Make up and headgear tying, Catering services and other vocations in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital courtesy of POAF.

POAF Founder, Princess Adenike Omotayo, who said the NGO was established to empower unemployed youths, widows, single mothers, orphans, civil servants, artisans, disclosed that the batch of 100 trainees would graduate on Friday, September 29, 2023.

She said, “Upon graduation, the trainees at the centre would be issued with certificates that would enable them to be gainfully employed in any part of the world”.

Omotayo and a major sponsor of the organization, Mr Shola Adeola Cradle to Career Foundation, who made the disclosure in Ado Ekiti, noted that the ceremony was scheduled for Ajibade Gardens GRA, Ado-Ekiti.

They stated that the training empowerment programme was “part of concerted efforts of the Foundation to intervene in its own little way to reduce poverty in the land by empowering unemployed people in society with the three-month intensive practical training.

Omotayo said, “The foundation’s gesture is to complement government’s efforts to lift the unemployed and other vulnerable people out of poverty.

“The physically challenged persons will be included in the third batch of the empowerment programme that would commence soon. The programme is a continuous one with the sponsor, Mr Shola Adeola Tajudeen Cradle to Career Foundation.

“POAF foundation has earlier made its impact felt in Nasarawa, Taraba, and Kano states”.

The POAF founder said that the foundation, established by successful professionals willing to give back to society, is to train and empower the unemployed and the less privileged by turning them to successful enterpreneurs in their chosen vocations.

Stressing that the Foundation was she said the vision of the foundation is to train,empower and financially support the needy to start and grow their own business and become successful entrepreneur/business owners.

She solicited more Sponsors/Partners nationwide and in the diaspora to support the Foundation to make it a continuous progress.
