The Transmission Company of Nigeria has announced plans to carry out critical maintenance work on the 132kV Akure Osogbo transmission line.
According to a public notice on Sunday, the upgrade will disrupt power supply to Ondo and Ekiti states for two months.
The notice further indicated that the affected states will experience power outages that will last nine hours daily, starting from Monday, July 1 to August 31.
The notice stated, “Please be informed that the Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, is scheduled to carry out critical maintenance work on the 132kV Akure Osogbo transmission line.
“The planned work involves the installation of Optical Ground Wire (OPGW) and other activities. This will require outage on the affected network for safe working space.
“Customers in the affected areas will experience service interruptions during the period of the planned outages. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this may cause and kindly solicit your patience and understanding,” the TCN’s notice read.
Recall that the Benin Electricity Distribution Company had on Wednesday notified consumers in Ondo and Ekiti states that TCN would carry out critical maintenance work on the 132kV Akure Osogbo transmission line involving the installation of OPGW and other activities.
BEDC management had said that it would require power outage for nine hours daily for two months beginning from July for safe working space.
