UI Muslim Graduates Association celebrates members at homecoming

* Honours VP Shettima, Zulum, Oyo, Lagos dep govs, others

The University Ibadan Muslim Graduates’ Association is organizing a homecoming programme to celebrate its members on Sunday, November 19, 2023.

The National Secretary, Babatunde Lawal, said that the association would honour some distinguished members at the event holding by 10am at the University of Ibadan Mosque Hall.

Lawal said in a statement titled, ‘UIMGA celebrates achievers at homecoming’ that “It will be noted that the programme coincides with the 75th Anniversary of the University of Ibadan, thus the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Kayode Adebowale, is the Chief Host.

He stated that the Guest Speaker, Mutalubi Adebayo Ojo SAN, would, at the event, do justice to the topic, ‘Religions, Worships, Political Participation and Governance: Service to Humanity or to both Humanity and God?’

According to him, Some of those to be honoured are the Nation’s Vice President, Dr Kashim Shettima, GCON; the Governor of Borno State, Engr. Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum mni; the Deputy Governors of Oyo State, Barr. Bayo Lawal and Lagos States Deputy Governor, Dr Obafemi Hamzat.

Also to be honoured are the Dean of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine University of Ilorin, Prof. Musturah Oyebisi Azeez; Prof. Hameed Adetunji of Umul Qurah University Saudi Arabia; Senators Sharafadeen Ali, Yunus Akintunde and Lere Oyewumi; and notable Professors.

The programme, which will be presided over by Managing Director, First Bank Nigeria, Dr Kazeem Sola Adeduntan, will have the Olowu of Owu Kingdom, Oba (Prof.) Saka Adelola Matemilola PhD, FNSE (Oluyalo Otileta VII) and the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, Ikorodu, Oba Semiu Orimadegun Kasali (Emugoriade I) as Royal Fathers.
